Celine Prepares For Phoebe Philo's Arrival With a Pretty Li'l Fall Collection
While the fashion world baits its breath and waits for Phoebe Philo's June '09 debut for Celine, the label turned to its team of designers for a fall '09 collection which definitely proved that things are on the up 'n up at Celine. There's a vintage vibe at work in trapeze coats with big gold buttons, Crayola colored caplets, and boxy tweed jackets—not to mention we're kind of loving their luxe leather beret/newsboy cap hybrid. Do we detect an element of Bonnie and Clyde in the mix? For a house that had as little identity pre-Philo as Celine, this moment in time couldn't be bigger for them. Let the countdown begin, and 'til then, we'll hold all our marbles in that big, slouchy, gray suede tasseled bag...
