Reiko Kaneko, ceramic artist

Fact: We never thought a second about eggcups until this Central Saint Martins grad started designing them. A specialist in covetable ceramics emblazoned with gold drips of paint and animal prints, the Japanese-born artist is, not surprisingly, quite sharp at recognising good design when you see it.

"Jil Sander is my obsession," she tells us. "I love how she combines sharp tailoring with unusual silhouettes, and the use of her softer and tactile fabrics like satin, silks, and soft knits. In a similar way, Yang Li's tailored tops does it for me. For accessories, I love Coops by a girl I studied with at Central Saint Martins, Emma Franklin. Pure simplicity."
