Carmen Busquets, founder of CoutureLab and GiftLab
Meet London's e-commerce queen. A native of Venezuela, Busquets has had a hand in launching some of the web's most beloved fashion sites. The elegant blonde was the major founding investor of Net-a-Porter, has invested in luxury sites like Moda Operandi, Mayet, and Astley Clarke, and is the founder of CoutureLab, which specialises in a sharply curated assortment of rare, handcrafted designer finds. These days the fashion mogul — a whiz at pairing killer black dresses with statement jewellery — is focusing on the recent launch of GiftLab.com, the covetable gifting site which made our holiday shopping a total breeze.
Her picks for spring '13? Rick Owens' silk georgette biker jackets, Alaia's "very feminine" broderie Anglaise dresses with flared skirts, Mary Katrantzou's notes and stamps-printed dresses, and handcrafted statement clutches and jewellery from Bea Valdes. We approve.
