Best date spot in NYC:
"I'd say walking around any neighborhood you really like in the city is the best spot. I'm drawn to water, and living here you forget that it's all around you, but if you walk to the end of about any street, you'll find it and usually with it, a slice of the city unfolds. You can attach the walk to some outdoor performance or bop into an art gallery or two and then if it's going well the dinner window opens. And most places you're roving will provide at least something interesting to talk about if the conversation begins to run dry."
Best date movie of all time: "One that you're watching on a blanket outside. Maybe on a roof with some beers or hooch within reach. And as for the flick — something you both haven't seen or both have. Pre-picture hype is a bummer. Classics and indies are fun summer fodder."
Biggest turn off/turn-on:
"If you're on a date, you should kind of act like you're on a date. Biggest turn off is a phone. Biggest turn-on is that the person you're with is (at least acting) interested in what you're saying and has something to say themselves. But for this to work, you should really have something worth listening to."
Best first date outfit:
"For me: cowboy boots, blue jeans, white T-shirt.
For them: like they care a little bit about being on a date."
Most romantic thing someone's ever done for you:
"Sex in a bar bathroom. I was swept off my feet."
Most romantic thing you've ever done for someone:
"One, it's good to give someone you're with little things and surprises for no reason at random times — the tiny efforts keep things sweet and romantically charged. Two, I'd also include taking someone camping as an official romancing move."
Favorite funny pick up line:
"Calling someone a nickname that you just made up for them and just going with it. But don't be creepy."
