Maria's Packaged Goods & Community Bar
Maybe it's the Pilsen location that keeps the riffraff out of Maria's. Maybe it's the welcoming staff and good vibes. Either way, this watering hole is worth a trip slightly south.
Maria's Packaged Goods & Community Bar, 960 West 31st Street (between Lituanica Avenue & Farrell Street); 773-890-0588.

Scofflaw
This brand-new, gin-focused speakeasy-ish spot will shake up something delicious for you. This is the perfect place to take the girls on a night when you don't want to be bothered by anyone, fratty or otherwise.
Scofflaw, 3201 West Armitage Avenue (at Kedzie Avenue); no phone.

The Hideout
Hidden (obviously) just east of the Wicker Park area, The Hideout is famous for live music and a good crowd. The outdoor patio makes for a perfect place to chill between sets.
The Hideout, 1354 West Wabansia Avenue (at Ada Street); 772-227-4433.
