We believe that everything’s best in moderation — including dieting. So, lately, we’ve cut a little deal with ourselves: Eat clean during the week, and live it up (a little) on the weekends. Cut to us dreaming about Saturday brunch as soon as we hit our desks on Monday morning. And this week, we’ve had Little Market Brasserie on the brain.
The new Gold Coast spot — decked with black-and-white tiles, antique mirrors, and colorful art from Erni Vales — has the vibe of a sleek Manhattan brasserie. We’ve been sold on it since we first tasted its deviled eggs and vanilla-hibiscus cocktails, and we can’t wait to calorie-splurge on its brand-new brunch. Created by chef Ryan Poli and the Tippling Bros., the menu offers classic comfort foods with tasty little twists. Expect biscuits and gravy with fried eggs; chorizo omelets with queso fresco and guac; and grilled cheese sandwiches with bacon, avocado, and deliciously spicy Sriracha sauce.
Don’t worry, we wouldn’t dream of suggesting you go Bloody Mary-less. Little Market’s version of the classic breakfast comes with plenty of vodka; there’s also the gin-based “Morning Monkey,” which we may order for its name alone. And guess what? This place takes brunch reservations. So, you can skip the standing around, hoping in vain that the hostess calls your name, and get right down to your breakfast bounty. Brunch is available on Saturdays and Sundays, from 6:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., so call up and score your spot at this new hot spot, stat.
