When we rolled up to last night's Corduroy Magazine spring/summer issue launch party at Milk Studios, also hosted by creative group We Work, we weren't exactly prepared for the shit-storm outside. As our twitter feed shows, you can't blame us if we thought for a second that Justin Bieber may have been the guest of honor. Though that particular tween fantasy wasn't on the menu, once we made it past the hundreds of party-goers crowding the door (and we kid you not when we say we say it looked like a swat team of cops was just waiting to be provoked), it was a hipster's paradise, with performances by Sean Lennon and Irina Lazareanu among others. Also on display were about 20 photos on auction to benefit Kiva, including portraits of Leigh Lezark, Theodora Richards, and Katie Gallagher. We chatted up guests like Yigal Azrouel, who had "just finished resort, with about 35 pieces," and Phillip Lim, who said, "I like to listen to Irina when I want to chill," and generally peeped the muy fashion-forward crowd (yea, our obsession with Richard Chai borderlines on danger, danger!). Though special guest Pete Doherty was "turned around at customs," we still think that you'll enjoy our shots of the Corduroy crowd.
