Make It Rain This Weekend At These 3 Solid Sales

saturday-la-sale-600
In case the infusion of cheerful retro tunes on the radio haven't made it clear, we've entered the throes of holiday season madness. Since there's no time like the present to start your gift planning, this weekend has a smattering of sales that'll help kick-start your holiday agenda. From a vintage wonderland to a school event unlike any other, we've got you covered no matter who you're shopping for (especially if it's yourself!).

Study Up On Style At This Schoolyard Sale
When you think of back to school shopping, you might think of pencils and backpacks and binders (and of course, a fabulous first-day outfit). But Ivanhoe Elementary School is taking that phrase to a whole new level by hosting a multi-designer sample sale that brings together top L.A. brands for a fantastic cause. Designer Cynthia Vincent, whose daughter attends the school, is co-hosting its second annual Designer Sample Sale, with proceeds directly benefiting the school. Participating designers include Vincent, Charlotte Tarantola, fleur't, and Rachel Zoe, and with sale items starting at $10, it's practically your civic duty to support these students with some mega-discounted fashion finds.
When: Friday, November 30, 1 to 5 p.m. and Saturday, December 1, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Where: Ivanhoe Elementary School, 2828 Herkimer Street (at La Paz Drive); no phone.

This Designer Collection Brings Small-Town Comforts To The Big City
L.A. is the second-biggest city in America, and it can be hard to curate a style identity in its eclectic, sprawling landscape. But one thing we can all agree on is the awesomeness of Los Feliz boutique Weltenbuerger's new collection, Marfakind by Kieley Kimmel, which employs hand-painted and hand-dyed fabrics to create unorthodox and beautiful pieces that shun mass fashion trends in favor of intensely personal style statements. Celebrate the release of Marfakind this Saturday with a trunk sale-slash-celebration (RSVP here) where you can pre-order the collection, sip cocktails, and party to the beats of local DJs.
When: Saturday, December 1, 7 to 11 p.m.
Where: Weltenbuerger, 1764 North Vermont Street (between Melbourne and Kingswell avenues); 323-300-5990.

It's Back! L.A.'s Coolest Vintage Pop-Up Comes To Town
It's no secret that we love ourselves some vintage shopping, but it can be taxing to hop from boutique to boutique in our quest for exceptional treasures. Luckily, none other than vintage pop-up A Current Affair is in our neck of the woods, bringing together over 30 vintage retailers and dealers from the L.A. area. And, for the first time ever, there will be a jewelry trunk show and exhibit, showcasing the show's vintage wares with contemporary baubles and bling. With an open bar, music by KCRW DJ Marion Hodges, and plenty of refreshments courtesy of VitaCoco, you'd be remiss to miss out on a veritable wonderland of one-of-a-kind finds. Tickets can be purchased here or at the door for $10 regular admission, $20 early admission.
When: Saturday, December 1, 3 to 8 p.m.
Where: Cooper Design Space, 860 South Los Angeles Street (at East 9th Street); 310-383-5939.
