Cari's assistant baked these booty-ful sugar cookies. We loved 'em so much, we snagged her recipe and decided to share it with you. Bon appétit!
Ingredients:
3/4 cup butter, softened
1 cup white sugar
2 eggs
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
2.5 cup all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
Directions:
1. In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until smooth. Add eggs and vanilla.
2. Sift flour, baking powder, and salt. Combine dry ingredients with butter mixture until well combined. Split the dough into two to three pieces. Cover and chill for at least one hour.
3. Preheat over to 375 degree and Line cookie sheets with parchment paper or tinfoil.
4. Roll out dough on floured surface to 1/2" thickness. Use cookie cutters to cut out shapes, and a knife or spatula to remove from working surface. Put the dough back into the freezer if it becomes too soft to work with.
5. Bake for six to eight minutes or until the bottoms begin to brown. Try to place similar-sized cookies onto the same plate to ensure they cook evenly. Let them cool completely before decorating.
Cream cheese icing:
Ingredients:
4 oz cream cheese, room temperature
1/2 tsp vanilla
1 tbsp milk
4 cups powdered sugar
Food coloring
Directions:
1. Using an electric mixer, beat cream cheese, vanilla, and milk.
2. Add one cup of powdered sugar at a time. If the icing is too thin, add more powdered sugar. If it is too thick, add more milk. Add food coloring as needed.
