Kooples Therapy: Parisian Retailer Scouts Real-Life Couples For Their Chic Wares

When we think attractive, non-model-y boys and girls modeling, we usually think American Apparel. But just wait 'til French retail chain The Kooples (that's a play on the French saying "couples" in English) hits stateside. The store's ad campaigns, which feature real-life couples scouted from the street, Facebook, and Myspace, also (thankfully) feature the guys and gals clothed (what a concept!). And it doesn't hurt that the clothing is incredibly cute, either: Military-style coats, double-breasted cardigans, and extra-long blazers look unisex, so boyfriends and girlfriends can borrow freely from each other's closets. The chain has already opened up a whopping 20 stores in three months, and are planning to open 150 more in the next three years, including ones in the U.S. For now, though, you can head on over to their website and shop online, and for those fluent in French, read up on the featured couples. We always knew everything was better in two's.
