How do you make a small space look bigger?
"To make a small space look bigger I have three suggestions–none of them original, but all tried and true:

1. Paint it a dark color—it blurs the boundaries of the room.
2. Introduce a large piece of furniture. It distracts from the size limitations that the space provides.
3. Mirrors can be your best friend. They visually double or triple the space and are perfect for providing extra light if you are doubly cursed with having a space that is small and dark. If small and bright is your problem be aware of the sometimes startling effect of seeing yourself all the time. It can really freak you out if you’re not feeling so pretty."
