Christopher Viggiano, 33, Ready-to-Wear Senior Designer and Andrew Spraggs, 36, Director of Furniture
What does your role encompass from day to day?
Christopher: "I'm responsible for reinterpreting Kelly's vision into clothing that is both directional and profitable, while maintaining the integrity of the brand."
Andrew: "I develop the Kelly Wearstler custom-furniture line."
How did you score your gig?
Christopher: "I knew it was a match when at my second interview with Kelly, she coincidentally happened to wear a hot pink moto jacket I had designed from a previous company I worked for. It was one of my proudest moments and, in my opinion, one of the most exciting parts of being a designer — discovering your customer."
Andrew: "Through a connection with the respected antique dealer Joel Chen."
Why do you think your personality is best suited for the company?
Christopher: "I have two sides to my personality — I'm raw, yet refined."
Andrew: "This isn’t a place for people who need to be told what to do — it’s better suited to those who
can create their own directives."
What's been your most memorable moment with the company thus far?
Christopher: "I come from the New York fashion industry where it isn't that weird to see someone scarfing down a slice or two of greasy street pizza for lunch. I'll never forget when I ordered pizza for my first meal, and one of my vegan co-workers immediately peered over my cubicle while slurping down her liquid lunch. She asked what that smell was. I remember answering puzzledly, 'It's pizza, would you like some?' She then responded — in all seriousness — 'Oh, you eat solids?' It was the first time in my life I actually had to stop for a second and question what exactly someone was asking me. But, interestingly enough, I find myself at Pressed Juicery a little more often these days."
Andrew: "Having the annual staff party the evening after my first day of work. I was hoping there would be an open bar every day thereafter."
How would you describe your work environment in five words or less?
Christopher: "Inside the coolest pinball machine."
Andrew: "No time for Facebook updates."
What items have you been lusting after?
Christopher: "The Punched Leather Top. I don't juice for nothing!"
Andrew: "The new Souffle Sofa we're working on. It's eight feet of the most luxurious and comfortable assemblage of buttery lambskin and brass you might ever see."
Christopher: Kelly Wearstler Sweater, Theory Shirt, Whyred Jeans, Happy Socks Socks, Cole Haan Shoes; Andrew: J.Crew Shirt, Levi's Pants, Red Wing Shoes
