Repetto Pop-Up Shop
For 90 days, Earnest Sewn brings a little Paris to the Meatpacking District. By Meredith Fisher

A pop-up store may be fleeting in concept, but the trend is definitely here to stay. The latest partners to embark on a temporary alliance are Earnest Sewn and Repetto—and just in time for New York Fashion Week. From September 5 thru December 1, the Earnest Sewn flagship will host a 90-day installation of the iconic French footwear label Repetto, offering a handful of shoe designs for purchase for the first time in the U.S.
While this marks Repetto's first foray with pop-ups, Earnest Sewn has been a pioneer of the trend since April 2005, when they launched the Earnest Cut & Sew installation series. Since then, a plethora of brands have set up shop in the 420 square foot Meatpacking District store, including Rogues Gallery, John Derian, and Santa Maria Novella. "Repetto was attracted to our store concept," says Earnest Sewn's president and designer Scott Morrison. "And although their roots are in ballet and ours are in work-wear, we both believe in paying homage to our respective origins, while updating styles to stay current and on the cutting edge of fashion."

The back-room boutique will resemble the Repetto flagship in Paris on rue de la Paix, and will pay homage to Repetto's history by featuring large-scale photos of brand loyalists like Brigitte Bardot and Serge Gainsbourg. A ballet bar has also been installed in the corner so customers can practice their plies pre-purchase. In addition to the classic flat, the shop will also showcase a variety of limited-edition styles, including fall perfect plaids and leopard prints, as well as two holiday exclusives, the Zizi and the BB recast in organic canvas as part of Earnest Sewn's upcoming eco line, Greencaste.
Repetto Pop-Up shop at Earnest Sewn, 821 Washington Street (between Gansevoort and Little West 12th streets).
