L.A.'s Angelino Heights Welcomes Cool New Shop IKO IKO
Tomorrow, Rowena Sartin designer Kristin Dickson opens her new retail space IKO IKO in L.A.'s historic Angelino Heights. Derived from an old Gambian word meaning "Listen Up," IKO IKO highlights a new theme every 12 weeks with its inaugural series—Still Life/Nature Morte. They'll be offering workshops, screenings, and shows in addition to a tempting mix of clothing and accessories from both L.A. and N.Y.-based designers. Drop in and you'll also find an assortment of vintage books, artwork, objects, as well as limited-edition pieces from Dickson's own Rowena Sartin line. Good stuff, for sure.
IKO IKO, 1298 West Sunset Boulevard, (at Innes Avenue); 323-719-1079. Open Tuesday through Saturday, from 11 to 7 p.m.; Sunday, from noon to 5 p.m.; and by appointment.
