Concrete Garden: The Convenience Store's Cult Gallery Opens in London

London has always been a home for fashion's arch and severe. That's why we love it so. Cult artist and clothing designer Andrew Ibi is keeping that cutting edge nice and sharp with his new boutique, The Convenience Store, a tightly edited high-concept showroom which opened its doors in the Brutalist Trellik Tower of London's Notting Hill—a monument to British severity itself—just today.
Concrete-lined and spartan in the extreme, The Convenience Store prides itself on being a one-stop shopping outlet for the best, and often the most avant garde, pieces by rising and established designers with a dark, European sensibility. Not for the faint of fashion heart, Ibi's store has collected a rogues gallery of style provocateurs to match the owner's own biting aesthetic. Naturally, Rick Owens, Veronique Branquinho, and Ann-Sofie Back make the cut, but there are also pieces by names less known on our shores including Gustavo Lins, Clare Tough, and Hannah Marshall. Limited stock of choice items, a cryptic "under the counter" policy for preferred customers, and it's location in Erno Goldfinger's odd high-rise should only help to cement the cult status of this already cultish emporium.
The Convenience Store is located at 1a Hazelwood Tower, Golborne Gardens, London; 44-0-20-8968-9095.
