Love a great, iconic frock? So does artist (and Prophetik designer) Jeff Garner, whose work is currently showcased in the Renwick Gallery's 40 Under 40: Craft Futures exhibit.
The designer has whipped up a collection of couture dresses entitled "A Dress To Change The World," a tribute to the late Princess Grace of Monaco, and will debut it for the first time in the States on Saturday at the Renwick. If you're game to splurge on the $100 ticket, you'll get to take in a runway show set to live music while downing sparkling wine and desserts.
And, in honor of the event, our pals over at Brightest Young Things asked an important question: What, exactly, are the most iconic dresses in the world? They've selected Marilyn's Seven Year Itch number, Audrey's LBD, and the suit Jackie O was wearing the day JFK was assassinated, among others. We would add Judy Garland's gingham frock from The Wizard of Oz, Halle Berry's sheer floral Elie Saab gown from Oscar night 2002, and J. Lo in tropical-print plunging Versace. Now, add your suggestions in the comments! (Brightest Young Things)
