It’s Boy Meets Girl At Band Of Outsiders Spring 2011

At yesterday afternoon's packed-to-the-preppy-gills Band of Outsiders spring 2011 presentation, designer Scott Sternberg added yet another line to his repertoire, proving he can craft uber-feminine looks as well as his celebrated nerdy-chic sportswear. Shown in a room of heavily-misted models standing under a steamer, Sternberg's new Girl collection was comprised of playful rompers, draped dresses, and airy tanks in a wash of pale neutral hues. An asymmetrical drop-waisted shirtdress was a standout, as were the updated Teva sandals each girl sported. Perhaps to balance out the sweetness, Sternberg's menswear skewed toward the casual, with drawstring shorts and striped pajamas worn beneath his cult-inducing blazers and jackets. And for devotees of his Boy collection, never fear—Scott's newest offerings were on full display, with colorblocking, mixed madras, and khaki tones among the predominant themes.
