We kinda felt like we were entering Michael Jackson's Bad video last night as we climbed down the service stairs into Good Units, the subterranean, former '30s YMCA space under the Hudson Hotel. No, we weren't getting into a gangster-rumble-dance-off but we were celebrating Interview's 40th Anniversary. The multi-level space gave us plenty of dark corners to sip our Absolut on the rocks (no mixers for us), while the gym-style wooden bleachers in the main room was the place to be for high-school wannabes, although we doubt the Andy Warhol-ish graffiti by Brian Ermanski was as cool as anything sprayed on our hall lockers. Cool kids like Chloë Sevigny, Justin Guinta, Hana Soukupova, and Lazaro Hernadez snuck smokes in the "library," while Daphne Guinness stood rooted at the entrance the whole night (immobilized by couture shoes again, perhaps?). The only thing lacking from the event was some sort of synchronized dance fighting à la the King of Pop—for next time, can we suggest Naomi Campbell versus Terry Richardson?
