These Are Not The Rain Boots You’re Used To Seeing

No matter how much you enjoy a good, dreary, rainy day, even wet weather's biggest fans must admit that moisture doesn’t do much for your look. There's that 90% of your closet’s fabrics you can’t wear (unless you’re into that whole “all damp, all day” look, and you’ve got to rely on that one bag with the top closure to keep your work laptop dry…even though it matches nothing).
The worst? Your shoe situation. Sure, you picked the very chicest rain boot you could find, but those rubbery beasts of burden give you many more sads than glads.
It’s time to think outside that Wellies-shaped box and look to Hunter’s spring ’15 collection for some inspiration. This collection of heels, oxfords, sneakers, and booties are waterproof and rain-appropriate, and they look like the kind of shoes you’d wear if the sun was shining at full capacity. Sure, those cut-outs mean that you won’t be able to jump, kindergarten-style, into a deep puddle full of washed-up city gunk, but when’s the last time you did that, anyway? The rest of the collection is filled with more trends-gone-waterproof, including athletic stripes, bucket hats, seatbelt closures, and — for die-hards of tradition — Wellington-style rubber boots.
