Who Needs A Mountain? NYC Is Getting Its First Ski Lodge

In New York, cool stuff is never hard to find –– or difficult to get to. Don't know where to be philanthropic? That's a non-issue. Can't cook a turkey? Who cares? Don't feel like trekking to a snow-covered rock face? No sweat, creatures of convenience — the Hudson Hotel just saved you a traffic-ridden road trip.
If you've been fiending for peppermint schnapps flurries as much as we are, find yourself at the Hudson Lodge tonight. Underneath a 50-foot tent, there'll be gourmet ski lodge food for noshing, and all manner of backwoods fittings, like a faux winter sky, vintage toboggans, fur rugs, and a life-size bear...we're not kidding. As if that wasn't enough, there's also an aztec hot chocolate bar (yeah, you read that right!), ice-encased bottles with homemade simple syrups, and warm, winter cocktails –– bottoms up to Buttered Rum Toddies!
Ready for winter yet? Slide into your shearlings and skip through the slideshow. Like, who needs to leave the city when you've got all this in midtown? The only thing missing is a chairlift.
Hudson Lodge at Hudson Hotel, 356 West 58th Street (between 8th and 9th avenues); 212-554-6217.
