The London Girl’s Guide To Sporting Sneakers With Any Outfit

Once upon a time, heading to the office without heels in our bag was unimaginable. Likewise, heading out on an evening social occasion in Converse was absolutely taboo. Now, we look back and laugh as we sit in our board meetings in fluro Nikes and head to Fashion Week — for which heels were once of the upmost importance — in the most comfortable and "nouveau chic" Stan Smiths. The fancy-sneaker outfit is having a major moment.
Someone who recognizes just how cool sneakers are is Frieda Gormley, co-founder of East London lifestyle label House of Hackney. In fact, HOH recently collaborated with PUMA on a limited-edition collection of trainers and clothing that sees Frieda applying her trademark prints to some of the footwear brand's most beloved silhouettes, including the Basket shoe and the R698. The results are just as badass as you'd expect.
In celebration of the House of Hackney x Puma AW14 collection arriving online, we caught up with Gormley to chat about how to make sneakers work with everything in your closet. Heed her advice, and you can say goodbye to heels for good — or at least the next few months!
