Ultimately, they helps us become our best beauty selves. But, what about the germs and dirt these little wonders are harboring — not something you often think about, right? (I know I didn't before writing this story).

From leftover styling product on your flat iron to a dirt-clogged blow dryer, slacking on properly cleaning your tools can wreak havoc on not only their ability to prettify you, but also the health of your hair. To help guide you on your new cleaning mission, we spoke with hairstylist Casey Geren and got the lowdown on the best way to scrub down your curling irons, combs, rollers, and everything in between.
