Star Struck: Romance, Intrigue, Money—Your October Horoscopes!

Poor Mercury retrograde gets such a bad buzz. Let's face it; it's lousy for making major purchases (especially Mercury ruled computers and cars) or launching important projects (like the Bailout Plan or Presidential debates; God help us). On the other hand, it works for taking care of old business. Mercury is currently in elegant Libra, the sign of relationships, beauty, and art, so it's perfect for hooking up with ex-lovers, scoring at vintage shops, or selling those art deco lamps on eBay. Just don't be so eager to see it move forward on the 15th—in early November life gets intense, so you might as well enjoy the downtime.

LIBRA September 23 - October 23
The combination of Mercury retro in Libra and Venus in your money house inspires you to take control of your life and your finances, and suddenly everything falls into place. The full moon on the 14th brings a hot new romance or fires up a current one, and once Venus enters your witty 3rd house (on the 18th) you're ready to start a literary salon like the Algonquin Round Table or complete your memoir.

SCORPIO October 24 - November 21
Cosmic lovers, Venus and Mars, are both in Scorpio so you're pretty much invincible this month. Enjoy the attention and the power, but don't get distracted. The whole direction of your life can change in early November, so start focusing on what you really want and don't leave it to chance. PISCES February 19 - March 20

ARIES March 21 - April 19

GEMINI May 21 - June 21
With your ruler, Mercury, retrograde in your creative and romantic 5th house it's no wonder projects and playmates have stalled. CANCER June 22 - July 22
We've all been rattled by the recent economic crises, but it's security-minded Cancers who are stockpiling canned food, cookies, and designer hair products. Thank God for the sexy full moon on the 14th; it propels you out of your bunker and into a really big romance. One bit of advice; you may not want to share your hording obsession on the first date.

LEO July 23 - August 22
Don't apologize for wanting to hunker down at home in your jammies watching Little Britain and organizing your photo album.
