Home on the Runway — the brainchild of NYC-native Fanny Zignon — fuses fashion with interior design by focusing on the attainable. With a commitment to celebrate good taste regardless of geography, HOTR has talked shop with everyone from an artisanal candle maker to a pair of lighting-designer brothers, sparking the curiosity in us all. Talk about versatile.
For this shoot, interior designer DeChelle A. Harris found inspiration from an InStyle magazine feature on Yaya Alafia. Yaya was photographed wearing luxe velvets, furs, embroidered florals, sequined woolens, and embellished silk, all in vivid hues. DeChelle incorporated inspiring aspects from Yaya’s shoot by using bold color in her styling approach.
Color was a major factor in everything from the pillows and throw to the vases, the table runner, as well as the coffee table books. She incorporated texture using glass, a mix of metals, and fabrics.
