A Room Revamp With 5 Things You Already Own

One of my favorite parts of blogging has been meeting great people, both through the process of learning about the blogosphere, and from the creatives behind the blogs that inspire me! Erika Brechtel of Small Shop Studio is one of those amazingly lovely and humble bloggers I was introduced to by Desire of Hello Sukio.
As a forward thinking graphic designer, she specializes in developing unique brand identities for stylish clients. So, of course featuring her lovely office was a must. But, what I appreciate most about meeting creatives with like-minded ideas and philosophies is learning something new from each one of them.

Loving a challenge, I decided to give it a try. While meeting up with Jennifer Wagner Schmidt of JWS Interiors at her home office, I spotted a fabulous chest (a vintage piece she bought on Etsy) in her living room. I asked her if she minded if I played decorator, and pull a few pieces from around her home to pull together this look.

Et voila! I think this is a great guideline to use when you just don’t know whats missing. And, although the vignette came together for me when looking for just the right piece, keeping this five-piece rule in mind really helps!
