How NOT To Be Rude At A Holiday Party

You may not be sitting at the kids' table anymore, but that doesn't necessarily mean you've got the proper holiday-party decorum down pat. Be it a get-together at Aunt Meryl's or a gathering of a few close friends at your bestie's, you'll want to put your best foot forward — and celebrate like the sophisticated, well-mannered adult that you are.
Being a good guest goes far beyond knowing your table manners. There are little subconscious things you may do that are perceived as inconsiderate to your host and fellow guests. To help you steer clear of these faux pas, we've enlisted the help of etiquette expert Lizzie Post, who happened to sit across from us at Airbnb's holiday party. Between bites of chef Spike Mendelsohn's roasted turkey breast, we asked Lizzie — great-granddaughter of the legendary Emily Post — about the most common courtesy mistakes she's observed in recent years. Take notes, and go socialize like a decent person.
