We have a soft spot in our hearts for beauty brands that use their primping powers for the greater good, and this new charity scent by Histoires de Parfums had us misting up when we learned more about its do-gooder mission. Launching this week, the new Make Perfume Not War scent will donate $50 from the sale of each bottle to a children's charity of the buyer's choice.
The scent is extremely limited-edition, with only 1,000 bottles of the fragrance being produced. Billed as a unisex scent, each bottle is numbered and the fragrance itself features notes of citrus fruits, mango, lilac, peach, freesia, tonka bean, and white musk. The scent will retail for $205 — like the rest of Histoires' lineup of super-exclusive, handcrafted scents — and customers can choose from charities that promote five different causes, from education and art to sports and technology.

And, on November 20 (Children's Rights Day) brand founder Gérald Ghislain will auction off the first and last bottles, with all the proceeds being donated to charity. According to the brand, Ghislain felt urged to design a new perfume as a medium to express his faith in children and helping them, because he believes that children are our future, but many are in need of our help now. We couldn't agree more, and we're glad to see a prominent member of the beauty community demonstrating that activist spirit that is so important in today's uncertain world.

Histoires de Parfums Make Perfume Not War, $205, available in mid-September at Histoires de Parfums.
