The Forest of Mirrors
Since HGTV marathon missions have cured many a Sunday hangover, we first caught chilling wind of this site when the channel dubbed it one of America's most unique Halloween haunts. The house was once owned by silent-film star Buster Keaton (did you know he was Houdini's godson?), and the ominous grounds showcase over 50 trick mirrors and eerie eye-catching magic. No need to shell out any dough, but you may want to pack your porkpie to shield your eyes!

Suicide Bridge
Okay, so this one's admittedly a little dark, and we absolutely mean no disrespect to the departed. The myth begins with a construction worker who fell to his death into wet cement during the bridge's construction. Since 1919, over 50 people have taken their lives at the site, and the story goes that the man's ghost whispers to visitors urging them to jump. Animals are said to act oddly when taken there, and a leaping lady in white has been flashed to certain sightseers.
