Double Take: We Can’t Stop Staring At These Half-Drag Portraits

Perhaps all guys have a feminine side, but not every man can be a queen. This new portrait series by photographer Leland Bobbé explores the dichotomy of that rare creature in its full glory. Every shot is made up of one-half everyday Joe and one-half painted peacock — and we can't look away.
Aiming to express the duality of humankind as we enter an evermore-modern millennium, Bobbé is working on an ongoing series of men in half drag. With these portraits, he intends to "capture both the male and the alter-ego female side of these subjects in one image. Through the power of hair and makeup these men are able to completely transform themselves and find their female side while simultaneously showing their male side."
Well, we can't argue there. If a little lipstick can change your look, just think of what wigs, lipliner, and colored contacts could do?
We're knocked out by these stunning shots. Love them or leave them, they sure make you think, right? (Vogue Italia)
