Ever since Vogue's André Leon Talley mused on Hailee Steinfeld's "spectacular" style, it's been nothing but top-shelf wares for the True Grit gal. And, while most starlets might opt for a frilly gown and tiara for their sweet 16 parties, Steinfeld ditched the predictable princess vibe for a more modern pick.
Clad in a graphic Louis Vuitton romper, the birthday babe joined A-list guests such as Willow Smith, Mad Men's Kiernan Shipka, and Victoria Justice for an evening of Vitaminwater mocktails and Sally Hansen InstaGel manicures. Red accents, such as her LV clutch and nude kicks with crimson platforms, added a dash of color to the Twiggy-esque print.
Of course, we're giving the face of Miu Miu major props — many teens wouldn't give the getup a second glance, let alone wear it on their big day. But, it looks like the swinging '60s number could've been borrowed from a costume closet, too — some serious neck candy or a more youthful carryall would've made the onesie ultra festive. Are you down with Steinfeld's sartorial throwback or is it a bit too in-your-face retro? We're just glad she avoided the signature kohl-rimed peepers of that era — her fresh-faced mug is much more age-appropriate!
