When Anna and Sam began planning their stunning mountain wedding in Anna's home country of New Zealand, they aimed to capture the rugged beauty and laid-back nature of the country — as well as its people. Using deliberate, organic details and decor, they completely pulled it off.
Although they had hectic work schedules throughout their planning, by working with long-distance designer and planner Kath of One Fine Day
, they were able to achieve their dream celebration.
Since friends and family of the couple were traveling overseas for the wedding, Anna and Sam wanted their day to capture some of their favorite things about New Zealand, like an outdoor ceremony at the foot of the mountains, which was followed by a Champagne picnic in an open field. Of course, the good eats highlighted local cuisines and were served on shared platters. The wine came from a local vineyard, and to top it all off, dancing and celebrations commenced in an old wood shed.
To keep New Zealand tradition alive, the couple had a karanga, a traditional Māori welcome call prior to their ceremony, which welcomed the guests onto the land. With lots of greenery and wood, Anna and Sam's big day was perfectly organic and rustic.
