The #selfie is here to stay. That's if Free People
has any say in the matter. For its September catalog, the retailer opted for an Instagram-themed campaign, connecting with 29 real customers, bloggers, and models to showcase its fall collection. (Talk about capitalizing on something while it's hot, right?)
Aptly titled the #FPSelfieEdition, the lookbook's layout
mimics the social network’s design, displaying user handles and a tally of the total hearts given to each image. For reference, Free People's own handle
features more than 1.4 million followers. So, we imagine its fan base is pretty pleased with this new, innovative direction.
Per usual, the looks are expertly layered with must-have fall jackets, cozy knits, fuzzy coats, and scarves. And, featured 'grammers include Natalie Suarez of Natalie Off Duty, artist Langley Fox, and model Daisy Lowe, just to name a few. But, just because you're not pictured in the slideshow ahead doesn't mean you can't get in on the action, too: From September 8 to 15, simply Instagram an image of yourself and tag #FPSelfieEdition #FreePeople for a chance to win $1,000 toward the Free People wardrobe of your dreams. If's that's not a call to action, well, we don't know what is.
