High-End Hair Services At A Low Cost? It's True!

We don't know about you, but we'd rather forgo a second happy hour cocktail to ensure there's enough spare cash in our wallets to take care of our roots and frayed tips each month. Even so, an extra gloss here and a deep conditioner there can drain your resources faster than water swirling down the shampoo bowl. Whether the economy has negatively affected your cash flow, or you have simply adopted frugal ways from your parents, there is help out there for those looking to save a buck or two.
There are several high-end, established salons in Chicago that offer free or deeply discounted style and color services. Why you ask? Before any new technician gets out on the floor, he/she must go through an apprentice program that lasts anywhere from one to three years. During this time, the budding talent will assist the senior technicians, take part in classes, and execute services on lucky clients like you! But, make no mistake. This is not some Frenchie-beauty-school-dropout type of scenario. These guys and gals are completely licensed and are required to go through such a program simply so that they can adopt the style and artistry of their employer.
You'll benefit by paying $25 for highlights versus $125 or more. Not a bad deal if you ask us. Sometimes, there will even be a need for models looking to try a cutting-edge hair or color trend, if that's what floats your boat. Tips: While you may call the salon directly to inquire about these services, they will most likely directly connect you with a technician to schedule your appointment. Also, be sure to give yourself some extra time when receiving one of these services. Instructors are constantly observing and offering direction to the technicians. Just consider it insurance for your tresses. Here are a few of our favorites:
