[UPDATE: This story was originally published on February 16.]

The next big fashion thing to come out of the Bay Area? We're putting our money on footwear label Freda Salvador. The brainchild of friends Megan Papay and Cristina Palomo (former designers at S.F. brand Anyi Lu), the new luxe line won't hit stores until fall, but we're already head over heels for it.

Crafted in Palomo's native El Salvador and with a name inspired by the one and only Frida Kahlo, the shoes utilize fine Brazilian leathers and graphic pony-hair prints. Plus, a fact that's especially refreshing to hill-savvy S.F. gals: The duo's debut collection is stuffed with infinitely walkable, wearable, and versatile wonders, including flat booties, equestrian-inspired boots, and oxford-loafer hybrids that feature sleek removable vamps.

One look at these designs, and we should have guessed just how adorable the pair's rustic-chic Sausalito studio would be! Click through for the Shoe Stalking/Studio Stalker double-header, with a bevy of beautiful outfits thrown into the mix.
