Yes! Well... kinda. See, unlike the strangely popular Bubba Gump Shrimp Co., Nike's Cortez running pre-dated the also strangely popular 1994 Forrest Gump movie by a good 26 years (first hitting shelves in 1968). But the just-released Cortez Classic OG purposefully recreates the specific colorway Tom Hanks sported during Forrest's run across America "for no particular reason" sequence.
Gotta admit, movie tie-ins aside, they're pretty crisp and deliciously retro. Pair 'em with a mottled beard and Bubba Gump hat for the full look. (Streetthing)
