Lily Thai
Did you Thai one on last night? We did, too. We sat in our jammies and tucked into some Chicken Pad Thai (Thai noodles stir-fried with crushed peanuts, bean sprouts, onion, scallion, and egg) and Papaya Salad (grated green papaya, hot chili peppers, peanuts, tomatoes, string beans, and lime juice) from this reasonably-priced resto. Lily Thai dishes out grub all around the 'Burg. $10-$20 minimum depending on location.
Lily Thai, 615 Grand Street (between Leonard and Lorimer streets); 718-218-7522.
Pies ‘n’ Thighs
Take advantage of those dateless nights (and mornings) and indulge in a Fried Chicken Box (comes with a doughy biscuit), Chicken and Waffles (served until 4 p.m.), or a thick slice of S’mores Pie from this Southern joint. $10 minimum.
Pies ‘n’ Thighs, 166 South 4th Street (at Driggs Avenue); Brooklyn; 347-529-6090.
Ella Café
For healthier breakfast, lunch, and dinner choices, opt for this health-food hub’s Grilled Salmon Wrap with roasted red peppers, avocado, lettuce and garlic slivers, and chipotle mayo or the Organic Mixed Green salad topped with cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, and pumpkin seeds. $10 minimum.
Ella Café, 177 Bedford Avenue (between North 7th and North 8th streets); Brooklyn; 718-218-8079.
Best Pizza
It’s all in the name, folks. This is hands down the best pizza in the Burg. Take advantage of the delivery special offering one large pie with any topping plus a six-pack of bud for $26. $15 minimum.
Best Pizza, 33 Havemeyer Street (between North 7th and North 8th streets); Brooklyn; 718-599-2210.
Caracas Arepa Bar
Oder up some tasty made-from-scratch arepas for lunch or dinner from Venezuelan haunt Caracas Arepa Bar. These very-affordable, not-too-big sandwiches are stuffed with ingredients like shredded beef, black beans, cheese, and plantains. Bonus: If you’re itching for something healthy, you can replace most meats with baked tofu. No delivery minimum.
Caracas Arepa Bar, 291 Grand Street (between Havemeyer and Roebling streets); Brooklyn; 718-218-6050.
