Sure, we've all heard of the plethora of underground restaurants on the S.F. scene, but a super-secret boutique? Not so much. Until now. Meet Highlight Store, a new high-end shop nestled inside the private Pac Heights residence of owners (and personal partners) Amir and Emmanuelle Mortazavi. "The concept is about highlighting one country per year. And all of the different aspects of that country: Art, design, fashion, and antiques," says Emmanuelle of the by-appointment-only boutique. "We started with Belgium. So, we have some really special furniture and clothing by Maison Martin Margiela, Dries Van Noten, and Ann Demeulemeester. At this time, they are vintage pieces that we've collected." As for the in-home concept, she explains: "We live in the space and we really curate it with love. Overall, we wanted to have a cozy and intimate feeling. And when people come, we can really welcome them like they're in our home. We wanted the experience to be personal." To check out the super-private shop, click through our exclusive slideshow after the jump. And to get an in-person peek, the shop and gallery—located at 3043 Clay Street—will be hosting a party this Thursday, August 18, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. to celebrate the closing of Filip Dujardin's Fictions exhibition. And almost everything in the shop can be purchased and perused online, as well.
