Do you have any secret spots that you're really into or any favorite shops or restaurants you want to let our readers in on?
“I just discovered this nail salon that I’m just dying over: it’s Sakura Nails. This year I’m going to be all about nails, wearing sneakers with dresses, I just think we should play more. And Sakura is better than studio manicures — they’re very neat, very good. I always read Refinery29 as inspiration for our photoshoots, I just love your focus on nails. Right now, I’m doing the Corto Moltedo campaign and I’m going to hire the girl from Sakura to replicate the bag’s snakeskin on the nails — I give as much importance to the makeup artist and hairdresser as the manicurist. Another thing I love are the second-hand stores. I buy old, 80s t-shirts, cut them up — very New York Style — and bring them back to Paris where the girls are very preppy, very chic, they’re not as into vintage as the city. When I come back to Paris with them, it’s sort of special.”

You have a lot of special designer items, do you take them into the next season or do you feel like you prefer to leave them in the season in which they premiered?
“That’s impossible! I mix seasons, I’m not a fashion snob, I don’t have to own the latest thing, my love for clothes goes beyond the trend. And, it’s 2012, there are no trends. Wear whatever you feel comfortable in, play with your outfits! I love mixing in summer whites, like a white silk skirt with a cashmere sweater and moon boots — that is just something I would do. My icon is Diana Vreeland, I mix everything; play with the materials, play with the colors, just have fun!”
