Getting Started
At the start of the test, the makeup artist, hair stylist, and designer will all convene and take a look at the collection — either the actual clothes or pictures of them. They'll then learn what the designer's inspiration was and hear any direction or ideas the designer has in mind. Sometimes this is done all together, and sometimes the hair and makeup meet separately. It's all a collaborative effort as everything must work in harmony. "You always have to try to make things complementary and work as a team," says Willer. "Everything has to go together to make a perfect look — it's like a puzzle."
