Fashion Yearbook, 2012: 50 Unforgettable Moments

Hotdoggin' — This really happened: Renowned NYT critic Cathy Horyn referred to renowned designer Oscar de la Renta as a "hot dog," in terms of his showmanship and mass appeal. Then, ODLR took out a full page in The New York Times. Lady Gaga joined in. Hedi Slimane got involved. Even Horyn's hubby had some words, and the whole thing culminated in a lot of open letters being written, which is, like, the adult equivalent of hurling insults on a playground.
