See The Finalists From The First-Ever Fashion Hackathon

1
The fashion world's first-ever hackathon went down last weekend, and the results were, let's just say, hack-tastic (we had to!). Over 78 teams rushed through a 24-hour deadline to submit their ideas to solve fashion's most pressing problems. 32 teams made it through to the judge's panel (featuring R29's own Chris Bunk!), and now five tech-savvy style stars will get the chance to show off their ideas on stage at the Mercedes Benz tents.
The five teams truly represent the best of online fashion, whether it's 42's e-commerce perfection; Avant-Garde, which matches products to consumers by analyzing their social media streams; or Coveted's shoppable Tumblrs. We're also excited about Fashion Dashboard and their social media analysis, and SWATCHit, which connects designers with emerging market artisans.
If you'd like to see all this in action (and watch R29 founder Philippe von Borries, Zac Posen, and others give a speech!), grab your tickets to the finale next Thursday — it all goes down from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Lincoln Center. We're offering a special discount just for our dear readers, so enter the code "R29" here to pick up your tickets for 20% off. Happy hacking!
