You're in the midst of planning a wedding, how do you stay organized?
"I have to-do lists that are miles long, color-coded, highlighted, and sorted by priority and types of tasks. Then, there's the Post-Its that are the priorities of the priorities. Everything is handwritten, I loathe Google Docs and all the like. One of my editors calls me Analog Egan. I secretly love it."

What advice would you give to aspiring editors?
"You can't write unless you read. Read anything you can get your hands on. Constantly. And, I don't mean read to be entertained. Read to emulate. Digest each and every word of your aspired publication, see how it flows, try to understand its voice. I even like to keep memos in my BlackBerry of words and phrases that get my own wheels turning. Also, don't ever half-ass anything. There's no room in this industry for girls who expect mediocre work to beget glamorous gigs. Try to think eight steps ahead of your boss at all times, aim to not just please but wow her or him, and don't ever expect anyone to hold your hand. My number one mantra is, 'Be resourceful.'"
