Rose-Marie Swift has been a prominent authority in the beauty industry for over 20 year with work featured in publications such as Vogue, W, Harper’s Bazaar, Elle and ads with clients such as Louis Vuitton, Calvin Klein and Ralph Lauren. After a health issue indicated she had a high level of heavy metals in her system from working in the beauty industry, she embarked on a path to create the organic beauty line, RMS Beauty.
What do practices or habits do you incorporate into your routine to promote health & wellbeing?
"I have raw organic green juices every day or I just don’t feel my best. Organic juicing is so healthy for the system and feeds the body alkaline-forming greens to flush the body. I alternate between taking chlorella and clay to absorb chemicals that accumulate over all the years of nasty foreign invaders in the air, water, and food.
"I have a Hawaiian mediation that I repeat whenever I feel the need — 'I love you, I am so sorry, please forgive me, thank you.' It covers so much ground within and without."
What would you recommend people incorporate into their routine?
"Most people have a routine such as exercise or meditation that works for them. Yet every day, when it comes to beauty routines, multiple products come into contact with our skin from shampoo and conditioners to body wash, moisturizers, makeup, and hair spray. All together, we probably apply more than 100 chemicals to our bodies daily, and we know that not all of them are good for us. In fact, many are downright harmful. Some ingredients, like phthalates found in synthetic fragrances and nail polishes, are known to disrupt the hormone system and are a factor in diseases of the reproductive system and breast cancer.

"Sadly, our daily use of a long list of harmful ingredients in our personal care products begs the question: Are short-term results now worth the risk of health consequences later? My site Beauty Truth is dedicated to educating women about some of the toxins and misconceptions about today’s beauty business. And, my beauty line RMS Beauty is an organic color cosmetic line that avoids all of these toxic ingredients and chemicals."
