The holidays certainly express a time for family, tradition, celebration, nostalgia, gratitude, and indulgence, but it’s also a time for swooning — another excuse to create beauty, magic, and fantasy. Truth be told, I tend to get overly excited and often lose myself, too willingly, as I dive down the rabbit hole of creation for my holiday tablescape. I spend hours pouring over recipes customizing my Christmas menu, and then I spend days researching, crafting, and conceptualizing the dreamy and moody elegance of my holiday table.

How can I curate a table that is elegant and sophisticated, while also remaining simple and approachable? Can I visually wow my family and friends with the right amount of flair that expresses an experience that is both stunning but also cozy and intimate? What natural elements can I choose to adorn my tabletop that is unique and won’t be excessive and costly? How can I get crafty but remain classic, chic, and sophisticated?
I wanted the table-setting to reflect my personal style, a touch of edge coupled with both comfort and refinement. An appreciation of visual beauty — something to make eyes swoon. I do believe I executed my goal and have broken down the distinct elements that I blissfully shared with Harpers Bazaar. With a variety of aesthetics, everything was chosen in a rich palette of natural winter tones — hues of crimson, green, and orange — then deepened with touches of black ceramic, rich warm wood, and beaming brass details — highlighted by the flicker of glistening candlelight.

The use of fruits on branches (pomegranates & citrus) scattered directly on your tabletop adds a natural sophistication. Simple greens delicately placed on napkins and loosely cascading in a vase step up my holiday table, making it feel more festive, rather than costly flowers that wilt far too soon!
