25 Remarkable Women Making Single Sensational
It's easy to get wrapped up in coupledom, especially around V-Day. But what we find even more interesting than forced, candle-lit pair-ups are the women whose full lives don't revolve around an S.O. In honor of the ladies WE love, we've profiled 25 ass-kicking gals with careers, points of view, and style that make our hearts really skip a beat.
Alice + Olivia Wants Us To Get Into Their Pants
It's been 10 years since one of our faves, Alice + Olivia, launched their brand and they're going back to their roots… pants! To celebrate their decade milestone, Alice + Olivia launched their first ever global ad campaign in (where else?) the heart of Times Square, called "Get Into Our Pants". And, don't mind if we do! If you've noticed the matchbooks, coffee sleeves, bumper stickers, and condoms with the brand floating all over the city, you'll know this feisty campaign is really not meant to be subtle. Its cotton candy colors, neons, retro stripes, and bold florals grab our attention just as much as the tagline, and when you have Chelsea Tyler, (daughter of Steven Tyler) at the center of the campaign, how could the photos not turn heads? Oh, and not to mention their pants are uh-mazing? So, sure, we'll be happy to get in them.

Upgraded Dad Jeans Aside, Is Fashion Bad For Obama?
Turns out, Vogue interns aren't the only ones who can suffer under Anna Wintour's influence — last night, the editor teamed up with Scarlett Johansson to host "Runway to Win," a fashion-centric fundraising event to support the president's re-election campaign, and conservative pundits are in a tizzy over it.
A host of designers created lower-priced Obama-themed wares for the collection, which Republicans have bashed as being out of reach for Americans with lower incomes. Those same lower price tags are also leading to questions about campaign finance rules. Fashionista has the full story, but we have to wonder: Could support from the fashion industry have a negative effect in the 2012 campaign? Would you buy designer political paraphernalia? And should Scarlett Johansson refrain from political commentary? (Okay, that one's easy.)

Sweater Maestro J.W. Anderson Brings His Talents To A Cheeky Aldo Collab
J.W. Anderson's multi-media sweaters (think plastic, feathers, and rubber alongside cashmeres, wools, and cottons) are already a hit with the fashion elite (with an elite price-tag to match). With all that knitwear action going on, it was easy to miss the shoes in the designer's latest spring '12 collection, which were actually a collaboration with Aldo Rise.
In the same spirit as his sweaters, they're "a patchwork of textures," says Anderson, comparing his work to Rauschenberg. The quartet of stilettos comes with a practical ankle strap, cheeky whip stitches, and the requisite marabou feathers. The shoes will be on sale in U.S. Aldo shops on March 8, and will retail for a not-so-bad $155 each.
Show Us Love: Steven Alan's V-Day Instagram Showdown Is So Worth Entering
Sometimes, we can't figure out who we love more: Our utterly rad significant other or our totally addictive Instagram app. We know, we know, but seriously, that's the level of obsession we're talking about, here. It seems the folks at Steven Alan understand this conundrum all too well, which is why they're launching a V-Day contest that involves both your sweetie and your fave, born-in-the-Bay app. One lucky winner will nab a $250 shopping spree at Steven Alan simply by showing what drives him or her crazy (in a good way) about his or her valentine.
From now until 10 a.m. ET on February 14, enter to win by sharing a photo illustrating the above sentiment on Instagram, and tagging it with #toSAwithlove, and make sure you follow stevenalan on the app. The photo deemed the best will be announced (and awarded) on VTD.
Get more rules here, and get your sweetie ready for his or her closeup.

This Is What Million-Dollar Beats By Dre Headphones Look Like
We would never say no to a bit of bling around our necks, but when it comes in the form of a pair of Dr. Dre headphones…well, we think we've found our limit. These 114-carat diamond-encrusted sparklers were crafted by the experts of excess over at Graff Diamonds, and were seen hugging the neck of LMFAO's SkyBlue during Sunday's Super Bowl half-time show.
Styling Tip: For a pair of headphones this special, you can't just wear them with any old rhinestone-emblazoned, Pauly D Affliction T-shirt. Do like SkyBlue and pair them with S&M-inspired studded leather armor, red, leopard print biker shorts, shoulder wings, and ever-so-subtle shin guards. Extra points if you can score Madonna as your crowning accessory.

Cold Removes Cellulite, & Other Lies NY Partiers Tell Themselves In Winter
We ladies are all too familiar with the horrible, dreaded feeling we get when we're invited to a you-could-stay-home-watching-SVU-but-the dude-in-that-band-with-the-dimples-will-be-there party — but (dang it!) it's in the dead of winter. Typically, we like to look super cute without having to sport our long johns. So, we're forced to make the crucial choice between A) staying warm by wearing our heaviest pullover or B) slipping into our sexy LBD and freezing our asses off. Too often we choose the latter and obviously highly regret it every time.
Yes, we've all been there, and so have these two uber-hilarious subway gals, Alexandra and Danielle from SRSLY The Show . Peep the video below where the two poke fun at the NYC winter style choices (that clearly don't adhere to our tips). They clueless twosome get some valuable advice to harm up to. For instance, did you know that wearing close-to-nothing helps blood flow, gets rid of toxins, and eliminates cellulite? Riiight. Watch away and be sure to keep those extra-chunky knits handy, and the teeny LBDs saved for another season.

Make Up Your Mind About Leather: Stella McCartney's 3-Minute PETA Plea
It's hard to separate PETA from its paint-flinging, naked-women-in-cage-ing, catwalk-crashing tactics. For us, the stunts often distract from what their mission is: stopping cruelty to animals. And a huge part of that is informing people about the ways that fur and leather are made.
Getting a non-emotional account from PETA — especially one that involves a celebrity (especially if they're fully clothed) — is something we haven't really seen much of. But with Cathy Horyn's stamp of approval, this Stella McCartney video is a 3-minute-long, no-gimmicks narration of why Stella herself has dropped leather and fur from all of her designs, and a plea for you to make up your own mind as well. We know that leather- and fur-use are controversial subjects for fashion enthusiasts (and as personal a decision as becoming a vegetarian, so readers, play fair, because we're here to field everyone's opinions in the comments section below), but it's important to spend some time with the subject so you feel right with the decision you end up making. Start here. (NYT)
Pinterest's Power Players: Who You Need To Follow
Remember the days of "Are you on Facebook?" and "Do you do Tweet?" Nowadays, it's all "Are you on Pinterest?" You've heard the obsessive chatter about the social media tool and insane time-suck, Pinterest, and how it's making addicts of the image-obsessed.
Hello. My name is Dree. And I like to pin. I used to clutter my desk (and other parts of my home) with magazine tearsheets and make a mess of my computer desktop with piles of images collected in random folders. So, finding Pinterest was like a dreamy escape to not only organize my inspirations from the web but also collect (repin) images from other Pinners. To help you find that same feeling of blissed out inspiration, I've rounded up the top 10 Pinners on the genius site, plus the lessons you need to learn from them.
Urban Outfitters Is All Up In S.F. For Its February Catalog!
Bay Area residents are already well aware of how utterly inspiring Northern Cali can be. So it should come as no surprise that big brands are starting to take note of the area, using it as a muse for collections for the likes of Quiksilver and Rodarte, and in editorials by Hedi Slimane and
Vogue China's heavy-hitters.
Now joining those ranks is mega-retailer Urban Outfitters, which set up shop in San Francisco and the surrounding area (Half Moon Bay and Big Sur seem to have made an appearance) in the company's latest February 2012 catalog.
With pictures too pretty to chuck in the trash, we felt it only right to bring you some of our favorite images featuring the Bay as their backdrop. Check them all out after the jump, and do a little (Northern) California dreamin' along with the masses.

Cheap Ticket: Kenzo's New Ads Are An Insta-Vacation

We totally loved Kenzo's spring '12 campaign when we saw it last fall, and we have to say that these new ads are totally bringin' it. Seriously, these bold, in-your-face looks on those totally fierce models are making us want to book a flight anywhere that's a lot warmer and more festive than here. This is the first collection designed by Opening Ceremony founders Humberto Leon and Carol Lim, and we're thinking that it's a total win: The duo stayed true to Kenzo's fun and eclectic spirit, while totally raising the sartorial bar and infusing the clothes with an elegance and sophistication like never before. Speaking of which, can we take a moment to bask in the beauty of these absolutely stunning models? We're hoping that whenever the Kenzo party is happening, these ladies will be there, too...but, we're guessing that'll be in spring, when the clothes finally hit stores. Sigh, is patience really a virtue?
