Tuesday Events: CMJ Festival Picks and John Hodgman
Watch the streets for rampaging music bloggers (identifiable by their paunches, laminated event passes, stubble, and crum-covered black T-shirts). CMJ has fallen upon the City. This week features so many events with up-and-coming bands sharing stages, that we're just going to pic our faves from every day. Tonight, Oxford Collapse plays Cake Shop with nine other bands, Chairlift, Pwrfl Power, Lissy Trullie, and Pattern is Movement, come to Pianos. Chairlift will also be performing at an open bar event at Hiro Ballroom earlier in the night. Elsewhere, Louis XIV is at Terminal 5, Deerhoof is at the Spiegeltent, and Jens Lekman is at the Brooklyn Vegan party at The Music Hall of Williamsburg. For something more quiet, check out John Hodgman (famous for his appearances on as the Resident Expert "The Daily Show" and the PC in all those Apple ad) as he reads from his book More Information Than You Require. John Hodgman at Barnes and Nobel.
