Tuesday Events: Opening Night, Nayland Blake, Silver Apples, and Darker My Love!

For you non-experimental types… Darker My Love's moody and easily digestible beats… also, they're so damn good-looking. Darker My Love at Mercury Lounge.

Artist and enfant-terrible Nayland Blake is at it again. Location One is heralding Nayland's 25-year career with a retrospective that looks at the artist's mixed-media work that addresses race and sexuality with a generous helping of dark humor. Nayland Blake at Location One.

For your experimental types, Silver Apples cooks up crazy, otherworldly sounds that'll carry your thoughts all the way back to the '60's, when this musical act first appeared on the scene. Rock on, dude. Silver Apples at The Kitchen.

And finally, for you old-school types… Dr. Dog is known to make listeners nostalgic for the likes of The Beatles and The Beach Boys. Their latest album, Fate, has just been released to much acclaim. Go get 'em, boys. Dr. Dog at Webster Hall.

An evening full of music, books, film, and kaleidoscopes! Seriously, that's amazing. J&L Books Variety show at Aperture.
