Fashion Talks? OK, We'll Listen — Especially If Donna Karan's Talking

donna_karan.jpgFashion Week is mere days away, but you can get an early-bird dose of style expertise—tonight, in fact, at the Alliance Francaise. Fashion Talks is a three part series in which Pamela Golbin, curator of contemporary fashion at Paris's Musée de la Mode et du Textile (which has held exhibits featuring Valentino, Rykiel, and Gaultier within the past year alone) converses with fashion industry icons. First up is Donna Karan. Her designs have long been wardrobe staples, thanks to her attentiveness to the female figure. Surely the fashion veteran will have many words of wisdom. Be sure to flip your calendar forward to March as well: mademoiselle Catherine Malandrino (March 20) and — queen of queens — Diane von Furstenberg (March 23) will also be featured. Florence Gould Hall, 55 East 59th Street; 212-307-4100; tickets via ticketmaster.
