Behind every perpetually well-dressed Hollywood celeb is a phenomenal stylist. Take Emily Blunt and her super stylist Jessica Paster: The A-lister is never a red carpet disappointment (though we're sure she does pretty well on her own), but with Paster's fabulous taste, she's style gold 24/7. We caught up with the power team at the launch of the Paster's new fun and festive holiday collection with JustFabulous on Wednesday night in L.A., and of course we talked shop on foolproof holidays outfits, wardrobe malfunctions, and breaking into the styling biz.

What’s your go-to ensemble outfit for a last minute holiday party?

Emily Blunt: "For a holiday party, it's probably a bit chilly, so I'm all about a really cool, fitted tuxedo jacket that you can just fling over a pair of jeans and a nice top, and pop on a pair of heels. And I think that's an easy go-to that kind of dresses up everything."

Sidebar: We were huge fans of Blunt’s fitted-to-perfection Tom Ford suit paired with Jessica Paster heels. Wonder if she had Paster's help on this one!

Any recent fashion malfunctions?

EB: "At the LACMA Art + Film event, I put on my dress and there was a long slit down the front seam. Brie, Jessica's assistant, was sewing it for me as I was running out the door!"

Walk us through the design process for your holiday collection:

Jessica Paster: "I love textures, and as you know this season, it's all about the textures, [so] I got the velvet, the little piping, and a little grosgrain and we put it together. I just wanted a collection that was fun, whimsical, and very sparkly, beautiful, and holiday."

On her perfect holiday outfit:

JP: "It's all about the thigh-high boot for the holidays! I would do a sexy little sparkly mini dress or a little leather A-line with a sparkle top and thigh-high boots."

Words of wisdom to aspiring Angeleno stylists:

JP: "Intern! Intern! Intern! And do everything your boss tells you because you know what, the tougher your boss is, the easier your career is going to be."

Whose style would you love to get your hands on?

JP: "Of the younger crowd, I'd love to put together looks for Jennifer Lawrence. She's so fresh, beautiful, and has a bright career ahead of her. On the mature side, Meryl Streep would be a dream to dress."
