Is there anyone from the cast with whom you're particularly close?
"Definitely! Peter Facinelli, my "husband"...I've had a longer relationship with Peter than I've had with any man in my real life! He's very special to me. And Nikki Reed, who's both like a mother and a daughter to me in some ways, she's a great friend and I'm very inspired by her. And all the Cullens in general, honestly. Michael Sheen, I adore him, I think he's one of the most charming, hilarious men in the world. And the filmmakers, and the crew, you just become a family, and it's sad, because we're never going to have those moments again."
What was it like to lose your mate in the film?
"It was kind of exciting because I got to play something really different for Esme, for once. We didn't shoot it that many times, thank God, because it was so intense to shoot that. You can't really fake it, you just have to jump in and go for it."
So, do you believe in vampires?
"I don't know. I wanna say no, but I'm open to everything. I'm an L.A. hippie in that sense. I think anything's possible."
The Twilight films were so different from a lot of your other work. Do you want to continue doing fantasy or action movies in the future?
"Absolutely. For me, it all comes down to the relationships. The characters in this movie are captivating and the story is so strong. Whatever genre, it could be comedy, science fiction, drama...I'm into all of it, as a viewer and as an actor. I want to do as many different things as I can. I'm lucky that I've gotten to dance around and try a lot of different things."
